The Proposal
Including other Knightly Orders

As can be seen from any historical analysis of the situation around the globe is regards to Knights Templar Orders we are now in a situation of division rather than unity.
The meeting in Paris 1970 caused a rift that we have not been able to resolve as of yet. There are a number of obvious obstacles that need to be resolved.

Grand Masters
We have individual Grand Masters who are heads of their own respective Orders. As this is the case, we need to be able to work with this rather than seeing it as problem.

Sovereignty
Due to the nature of the individual Orders their sovereignty must be maintained and we as a collective Movement need to work with the model as it stands. It is impossible to elect a supreme Grand Master as that would not work within the structure that exists at the moment and I for one do not support this as a solution.

Structure
Each Order has its own identifiable structure and set of constitutional rules although guided by our Templar Constitution of 1129 and the Latin Rule. This again has to be accepted as the model we need to work with.

Headquarters
There is no official headquarters for the Templars this needs to be resolved and an international headquarters established. Again, there needs to be a common agreement on where this will be, how it will be financed and the daily running of the headquarters.

Ceremonial Dress Investiture
Ceremonial dress. Each order has a unique dress code in terms of Mantle design Order Logo and also how the Investiture is performed. This makes each Order unique and I do not see this as needing to be changed as long as the Investiture follows the basic requirements of who needs to be in attendance for example a Bishop or member of the clergy to give the blessing.

Documentation
The original documentation needs to be placed in a central archive at the headquarters to be preserved for the benefit of the whole Templar community.
The above are some of the issues that need resolving or preserving for the benefit of the entire Templar community.

A possible solution
An international conference will be arranged where the documentation will be signed during the inaugural ceremony. All Grand Masters concerned be it OSMTH or OSMTJ plus ourselves and affiliated Orders including the Ruling Officer or second in command will be invited.
This is not going to be the birth of some new confederation or magisterium it is an international meeting to discuss the way forward for the entire Templar family.
Confederations and other quasi collaborations have been tried in the past but all failed due to a number of simple factors namely who will head these collective Orders and what is the power given to the head of these Confederations. The solution is relatively simple. We have a chairman to preside over the meeting and a scribe to take notes. The Chairman will hold the chair for a specified time it is proposed this will be for four years.

How will this work
-
The elected Chairman who must be a Grand Master, is responsible for the agenda being kept to. Each order will state which topics they wish to be discussed the following year. The Order will then have a year to prepare its presentation.
-
The topic or proposal will then be put forward to be voted on. For the proposal suggestions etc to be implemented there must be a unanimous vote. If the proposal does not get a unanimous vote, those who voted against it will be given a specified time to give their reasons. The Order will then be asked to specify if they are happy to make amendments and then present those amendments to go for a second vote, or do they wish to remove the proposal from the table. This is democratic and follows a democratic procedure.
-
With regards to major issues like a Templar headquarters, each order will be able at the first meeting to propose a relevant site that hey have investigated with a full business plan for how it will be financed and maintained on a daily basis. Remember once the headquarters has been acquired it will be the operational centre for I.A.o.K.T.O.
-
The Conference does not have to be held at the Head Quarters this will allow other Orders from different countries to host the event.
UNITY IS STRENGTH
Which is what the association is open to our brothers and sisters from other Knightly Orders.
To create a bigger voice we must also look to ways of bridging friendships with all Knightly Orders on an equal standing.
Uniting all the Templar Orders alongside all other Knightly Orders creates a unity that cannot be ignored.
