Membership Fees & Costs
Once Membership to the Association has been officially agreed there will be an annual membership fee to pay. This will help to support the work undertaken by the Association and pay for the administration and running costs of the Association.
The membership fee will depend upon the following criteria:
Full Membership
Associate Membership
Priory membership.
This will depend upon how many Priories per Order are included.
This will be explained fully in the financial document.
Costs.
There will be various costs involved and these can be summarised as follows:
-
Uniform costs Mainly Patch for your Mantle and neck piece for Grand Masters Grand Priors and Ruling Officers to be worn at the annual conference to signify rank.
-
Travel costs to the annual conference
-
Accommodation costs whilst attending the conference.
Attendance to the conference will enable the Association to run effectively. Before joining the Association this is one of the key factors that must be considered.
The financial remuneration of membership fees.
Any Association needs to raise operating capitol. A premiss of this is annual membership fees claimed from the Member and Associate Member Orders.
The following lays out a path of membership that is fair and encompasses the idea of Orders adding their relevant priories and discounts for the “bulk” adding of Priories.
Full Order membership £150.00 per annum
Inclusion of priories Up-to 5 Priories £50.00 per annum per Priory
Add more Priories over the amount £30.00 per annum per Priory
of 5 and receive a discount.
Associate Membership £100.00 per annum
Inclusion of priories Up-to 5 Priories £50.00 per annum per Priory
Add more Priories over the amount £30.00 per annum per Priory
of 5 and receive a discount.
A payment by instalment can be put in place by request for those Orders who have a larger set of Priories they wish to include, this can take the value of their membership and the value of the added priories and break down their membership payment over a 12 month period paid by Direct Debit.
This will be subject to a vetting process to ensure that only suitable candidates can apply for this form of payment schedule. That vetting process will be the task of the Treasurer and the Association Secretary or a trained person to work alongside their office.
It should be noted that when Full Member Orders add Priories it does not give the head of that Priory any form of voting right at annual meetings ect (unless it is an Association wide vote). It does however give the head of the priory a seat at the table at all meetings to see, take part and be apart of talks and proceedings with a view to influencing their own respected Orders Grandmaster.
With Associate Member Orders when they add Priories it gains the Priories recognition but as with Associate Orders it does not give them a seat at the table or any form of voting right unless it is an Association wide vote.
One point to take on board and understand is that the Association is not a profit making entity, as such any form of fees must be set to engage Orders in a way that they see a fair and transparent payment system designed to ensure that costs are covered but not to the extent of profiteering off the member body.
It should also be noted that any and all persons that undertake a role within the Association do so on a voluntary basis and not as a paid position. The thesis behind this is so that Member Orders do not see the Association using Member fees as a way to extort wages to those who work within the Association. This again helps to keep Member fees as a level where more Orders would be inclined to join.
